Leif is a language school which was founded in 1987. It was originally set up as a school of English, teaching the language to students of all levels and ages. In 1990, Leif started its exchange programmes, organizing educational trips to countries where the English language is spoken and, at the same time, hosting students from all over the world, who came to Patagonia to learn Spanish.

If you are a nature lover, this is the place for you. Puerto Madryn City, where LEIF Spanish language school is situated , lies on the coast of Golfo Nuevo, next to Valdes Peninsula, famous for its wildlife richness, gathered in natural reserves of worldwide scientific recognition.

Leif programme has been designed for students whose goal is to increase their skills while still having some time to explore Argentinian Culture . For beginners , this programme will get you started and form the foundation for future fluency.

Classes start every Monday . The standard course, 20 hours per week, combines well qualified and trained instructors and facilities ,all working together to give you a learning experience which is both effective and enjoyable

Small group sizes allow each student to receive substantial individual attention and feedback from the teachers

Spanish classes for specific purposes are also provided, as well as literature courses and Argentinian culture.

ACCOMMODATION

Homestay

We may arrange a homestay, to make your immersion program complete.This option allows you to practise and to improve your Spanish in a natural environment while also exposing you to the local culture. This experience also provides the best possible environment for learning about everyday life in Patagonia, participating in the culture as a member of a host family.The mutual sharing and learning that take place during the family stay brings about a deep understanding of the culture .

Families are carefully selected and provide the student with a private room and washing facilities. Host families are middle to upper-middle class.

Breakfast and dinner are included.

Apart Hotel

You might also choose to stay at an apart hotel in the neighborhoods surrounding our school. Each apartment provides room for 4 people with private bathroom and cooking facilities

ACTIVITIES

Puerto Madryn combines places and settings for different activities or just for contemplation. Three kilometres of beaches with all the services provide the setting for a modern city with an important offer: lonely beaches, wildlife reserves (sea lions, elephant seals , penguins ) whale watching, diving , paleontology safaris, visits to “estancias”, fishing, historical circuits and visits to Oceanographic and Modern Art Museum.

Students will have the possibility of taking part in any of these activities, which will be coordinated and organized by Leif staff.
